Painting in Acrylics: “Big Cats – Tiger” – Part 4

More Work

I found myself at a little bit of a loss this evening, so did some more work on the Tiger!

Most of the work was on the rock in the near background (if you get my drift!).  To try and distinguish between the vegetation in the background, and the fur of the tiger, I used a different technique to apply the paint by using a palette knife.

I’ve never used a palette knife to apply paint before, so this was something new to me – I’m not utterly convinced that it was a successful experiment, but from a distance, I quite like the effect even if up close it looks messy; I guess it’s about the overall effect.
