Finally, after starting this model in June, the Minotaur is considered complete!
This morning, I decided to put some finishing touches to my second Mordor Orc. I haven’t experimented with any new techniques on this model, but instead tried to focus on choosing some more muted colour choices, as I felt it suited the subject influenced by the more realistic low-fantasy tone of the Lord of the Rings movies.
#Although really I could have cleaned up this one a little more, particularly on the Wolf Tail, I really wanted to say I’d completed this model before the end of the year.
I doubt I’ll get much painting done tomorrow or Sunday, so today was really the last chance to push him over the line.
Although I’ve had a little painting time this week, mostly it’s been spent on practicing blending, glazing and feathering techniques on the Blood Claw. This takes a while, and doesn’t show up well enough on camera, so I’ve not posted anything about it. He’s very much turned into more of a test model. I think there’s a small chance I may just figure out how to smooth out transitions better with a brush, which means I may relegate the airbrush down to undercoating and basecoats, but that may be getting well ahead of myself hahaha.
